Gil-ad Shaar, Naftali Frankel and Eyal Yifrach
18 days ago, two 16 year old boys, Gil-ad Shaar and Naftali Frankel were kidnapped along with 19 year-old Eyal Yifrach. They were on their way home from school in Gush-Etzion, south of Jerusalem.
For the past 18 days, the entire country has been looking for Gil-ad, Naftali and Eyal. Thousands of reservists were called into the army, myself included, to assist in the efforts. Thousands of Israelis showed their support by sending food packages to the soldiers in the field. Thousands others tweeted and posted to raise awareness. Thousands more volunteered to assist in the search. Millions more, across the globe, prayed.
Last week, the mothers of the three boys, travelled to Geneva (for two of them, this was their first overseas trip) in order to speak before the UN convention and raise international support for their sons’ safe return. (you can watch Rachel Frankel’s desperate plea for help at this link)
Last night, tens of thousands of Israelis gathered in Rabin Square in Tel-Aviv in order to show their support for the families.

Over the past 18 days, hundreds of members of the Hamas terrorist organization were rounded up, in an attempt to find a clue to the whereabouts of the three boys. Hundreds of houses, tunnels, caves and wells were searched.
Tonight, all this has come to an end. The bodies of Gil-ad, Naftali and Eyal were found in a shallow grave near the Palestinian village of Halhul.

I write these words with a lot of anger.
In a few days, the bastards who kidnapped and murdered Gil-ad, Naftali and Eyal will be found and arrested. They will be sentenced to long terms in prison. And a few short years later they will be released as part of some f**ked up deal with the Palestinians, pushed by the American government in order for the Palestinians to deign to sit down at the negotiating table with us. Or perhaps, they’ll be released, along with another 1000 barbarian murderers, in return for another Gil-ad, Naftali or Eyal.

The wounds of Gil-ad, Naftali and Eyal’s parents will be reopened, and the murderers will return to murdering once more. I don’t need prophetic wisdom to say this. It’s already happened more than once before. On Passover eve this year, Baruch Mizrachi, a police officer was murdered as he travelled to a Passover Seder with his wife. The murderer was one of the 1027 prisoners who were released in return for the kidnapped soldier, Gilad Shalit.
Marwan Qawasme, who is one of the suspected murderers of Gil-ad, Naftali and Eyal, has already been in Israeli prisons five times.
And being a terrorist in an Israeli prison isn’t really that bad. For starters, Palestinian terrorists in Israeli prisons get family visits. They have televisions and PlayStations. They study for academic degrees, paid for by the Palestinian government. Their families receive a monthly salary- the longer the prison sentence, the higher the salary- also compliments of the Palestinian government. They also smuggle cellphones into prison, in order for them to continue to coordinate terrorist attacks. And when they are released, they are given a hero’s welcome and a lifelong pension.
Guess who pays for this?
If you live in the United States- you do.
If you live in Europe- you do.
If you live in an Arab country- you do.
If you live in a country giving aid to the Palestinian cause- your tax money is being used in order to pay convicted murderers for murdering Israelis.

By the way, Abu Aysha’s mother was interviewed the other day. She said she was proud of him. May she burn in hell, hopefully sooner than later.

On the night of the kidnapping, one of the boys managed to phone the police. The policeman who answered the phone call didn’t believe him when he whispered into the phone, “Help! We’ve been kidnapped”. It took the police seven hours to realize that it wasn’t a prank call and to notify the army.
Earlier today, the police announced that the people involved would be removed from their posts but would remain in the police force.
Now we know that shortly after the call was made, the three boys were murdered. If the army had been notified immediately, Gil-ad, Naftali and Eyal might still be alive.
I hope the police decides to rethink that announcement.

And here’s something else to piss me off tonight. One of our lovely TV channels decided to report the finding of the bodies of Gil-ad, Naftali and Eyal, along with a sub-heading stating that Israeli security forces are preparing to thwart “revenge attacks” by Israeli settlers. Talk about Victim Blaming.

I’d basically forgotten about the blog, upon seeing the post update in my inbox I was intrigued to hear your take on it- especially after having written a long letter to my friend in Long Island. This post was moving in its honesty, thank you for that.
The only thing I’d like to contest is your statement “If the army had been notified immediately, Gil-ad, Naftali and Eyal might still be alive.” Even though I love bashing the police for incompitence very much, I don’t know if it’s true (and I feel it isn’t). In the present security and intelligence environement, I don’t think even the most assertive and intelligent policeman would’ve been able to get all the wheels going even if they personally would have considered it to be more than a prank. At the most, perhaps, we could’ve caught the terrorists with three bodies on their hands, and even that is pretty iffy with the short distances between the Gush and Hevron working against us.
That being said, Baruch Dayan HaEmet, תנצב”ה.

I wrote this before hearing about the shots fired in the recording of the call to the police. I haven’t listened to the tape myself, and I don’t plan to.
If the boys were murdered while Gil-ad was on the phone with the police, obviously immediate action wouldn’t have saved their lives, but it probably would have made the search for the bodies and the perpetrators much shorter.
If the terrorists believe they will be given virgins for their pig like behavior, then let’s give them what they want. Let’s have a death penalty. It solves many things. They will never be released and they won’t be housed by us, not educated by us, they won’t get free health care. Let’s start charging the bastards for electricity in Gaza and when they don’t pay we do what any other country would do, we cut them OFF! Enough is enough. We owe them NOTHING! Start acting like it.
